so busy!

Filed under: Entertainment, health, work — thesupertracey @ 4:04 pm

The weather has finally gotten wonderful (to my opinion – some would consider it miserable) and summer is hinting that its getting here soon.

Work has been very busy! We had around 95 dogs in today. Last night when I was there for closing, we had 44 dogs. This weekend is going to be very busy. I don’t doubt that this afternoon they’ll have peaked at 100 dogs. And lucky me, I get to be at work at 6:30 am for two days in a row! hahaha – not too excited about that really. Let me explain:

I’m tired. Well, maybe you could expand on that miss Tracey – you think. So, expanding. I had that awful mild flu a couple weeks ago that I believe I wrote about. Well then I gave it to my boyfriend Tommy (have I mentioned him on here before?) and I took care of him a little while he had it. And alas I gained half of it back from him! So here I am all week, snivling and coughing. That is tiring in itself to me. Then I worked Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and really early today, and I also had play rehearsals and community chorale rehearsal, and Wednesday night I had trouble sleeping. It was 1:30 am that I got up and went downstairs and fixed a cup of tea and drank it in my dad’s rocking/recliner chair. And I fell asleep. And then I woke up at 6 to my mom and the dog coming downstairs. I went back to my own bed and went to sleep. and woke up at 8:40, 9:30, and 10:30. I got a good ammount of sleep I guess, but I didn’t feel rested at all. I was going to nap this afternoon after I showered and ate after I got home from work but I haven’t been sleepy enough to sleep till now and its just now 4. I have to meet up with my director and the rest of the cast at 5:30 for dinner and run-through the show a couple times before the shows start at 7. I want to go see Tommy some time today and the only time I can think of would be right now. After the show I will want to go home and go to sleep.

Long and tangented answers are my specialty so it seems.

The play I’m in is written and directed by Anna Riner, titled Unanswered. I will post a video of it when its up. I’m going to go now!

Friday 13th and Valentines Day

Hello again! Well, yesterday was Friday the 13th, so I decided to wear all black. I didn’t have any bad luck at all! Quite the oposite. I got to hand out my Harry Potter valentine cards to my friends, I had a job interview at a doggy daycare called Camp Bowwow and I got the job! I start Monday morning – I’m excited. Then I went to Walmart to get some things I need for a dish that I am making for a little dinner party. Some of the people at the school’s apartments have a potluck dinner and I was invited to come so I said I’d make my chicken, tomato and pasta salad with the basil vinegrette because it makes a lot. I said that on Wednesday night. I found out Friday, yesterday, that it is going to be the main dish of the night! I got the chicken shredded last night before dinner. Today I shall dice the tomatos and boil the pasta. I think I will do that at someone’s apartment so they will be fresher at dinner time. I will make the vinegrette this afternoon though. It takes a bit of time to work on it, so I’ll just use the kitchen for as long as I need. Oh! Another thing that happened yesterday was my friend Keri and I went to my high school and went to a dessert theater – instead of a dinner theater. It was really good! We enjoyed it soo much! The show was titled “Find Your Grail” and had songs from a lot of musicals. Keri and I were very quietly singing along to some of them. I am very glad that my friend Brian who is a Senior got to have a solo. Seconds after he had started singing, Keri leaned over to me and said “From the moment he started singing I melted like butter!”  That made me laugh. He did a fantastic job! After the show I gave him a huge hug! He said he legs were hurting a lot. One of the other guys in the show said that this was the most physically demanding show that our high school has done and I agree! It was a very delightful evening.

This morning I wake up to my radio, the smell of pancakes or waffles, and some dark thing floating close to my bed. I sit up and get a closer look – its a balloon that looks like a rose and its tied around a box of Pirates of the Caribbean valentine cards for me to use next year. The smell of breakfast always seems to waft up to my room and wake me up. My tummy is now telling me to wrap this up and go down and get some!

Happy Valentines Day!

New Half-Blood Prince trailer!

As most of my friends know, I am a big Harry Potter fan. In fact, last night I watched the beginning of GoF (Goblet of Fire) last night with my friend Talia. This morning I checked my facebook and I had a notification that there was some big news on one of the biggest Harry Potter news sites, MuggleNet. To my delight, it was the latest HBP (Half-Blood Prince) movie trailer! And, for your enjoyment, I am putting it up. The first video is the first trailer that came out. The second is the new one. The third one is the International Trailer.

a great time!

Hello! I have returned to my lovely blog – no, I didn’t forget about it at all. I was simply away doing other things. One thing I shall use as an example is my trip to Houston for the Texas Reniassance Festival. I woke up at 7 am on Friday the 10th and finished my packing and had breakfast and such. My dad took me over to campus and I waited with the two other girls, Lori and Anna. We were ready and waiting a half hour before we wanted to leave. The boys, on the other hand, were not ready to leave at all. It came to be 10 am and the 3 of us girls grabbed our cell phones and started calling people. People as in the boys. Anna dissappeared for a half hour and returned with her boyfriend Josh. At 10:30 I got a call from the driver of the car I would be riding in, Karston. So I ask Karston what is taking so long over there and he said that Jake, a.k.a. Cowboy, was just getting out of the shower. I told Karston to tell Cowboy to hurry up so we can get going. Around 11 I think, the boys finally drove over to the girls dorm to pick us and our luggage up. I believe we got out on the road at 11:30. My car didn’t stop till about 1:30 for lunch at a McDonald’s in southern Oklahoma. We waited 40 minutes to an hour for Cowboy’s truck of people got there. When they did get there, they went in for a quick lunch to go and then they lead the way to Lori’s house in Houston. We hit traffic at the beginning of rush hour in the Dallas area and the end of it in the Denton area. I believe we arrived at Lori’s house between 9 and 9:30 that night. Our other group that stayed at Alyssa’s mom place didn’t get in till midnight as they left campus a few hours after we did. That is a breif overview of Friday. For me, that is breif.
Saturday the 3 of us girls woke up at 6:30. I put on my dress and did my hair and went down. We went to Walmart and I got breakfast there and ate it in the car on the way to the festival. We got there around 10:15 I believe. We all split up and did our own thing for the most part. We all saw the Dead Bob Show because that started at 10:30 I think. I found a shop that had little knives (2 in a sheath) for $5. I had been wanting some since we went to the Medieval Fair in Norman and with them at that price, there was no way that I was going to let it go! I found a booth that had honey sticks and I got 5 for $2. I got my hair braided up so pretty I had a friend take a picture of it for me! We ended up meeting at the gate at 3 and we got a group picture. The group that stayed at Alyssa’s met us there so they’re in the picture too. We went home and changed and relaxed. We showed each other buys of the day and exchanged stories of what we saw and liked. We had left over dinner from Friday night. Lori’s mom made something for us and there was some left over, but not enough. We ordered some pizza and then had a Transformers night. We watched the old Transformers movie they had made back in the 80’s and then we watched the recent one. We went to bed around 12 but didn’t get to sleep a half hour later.
Sunday the three of us girls were the first to wake up again. We let the boys sleep in a little. Lori made breakfast that morning. Her dad had started Madagascar and so I watched that for the first time. We all got dressed and the three of us girls were fairies that day. It was a lovely day and I had a lot of fun. I got a pearl, I dug for crystals, I threw knives ( and one stayed in the wall!) and I saw a fantastic show called Birds of Prey. I had forgotten to recharge my batteries during the night so they died during the Birds of Prey show that was at 2:30. When it got dark, they had fireworks over the water behind the jousting arena. My friend Anna and I were wondering where they were hiding Gandalf because it was amazing! We left shortly after that and went back to Lori’s house. I don’t think we went to bed till 1 am.
Monday was the sleep in day. Lori and I played video games and she thought the sound of the video games would wake the boys up. Yeah right! Karston was the first guy up. slowly after that the rest of the guys got up. Lori’s dad made salsa and he grilled meat so we could have fajitas and it was sooo tasty! the group at alyssa’s came over and we did a weapon spread and took pictures of it. I think it was like 63 things that belonged to 11 people. It got closer to dinner time and they went home and I forget what we had.
Tuesday we got up and got all our stuff packed and we were ready a half hour early! It was great! So we left early and went to the Kolache Factory and got breakfast there and then started back to Oklahoma. We stopped in some town to meet up with the other car and then all 3 cars headed to Jake’s place for lunch. We were there from 3-5, Jake’s group + Cameron stayed later and didn’t get into town till 11, and they came to my place so I could hold some swords for some people. I had gotten home a bit after 7, and I called Jake to see when they’d be getting here. I watched NCIS with my parents and then retired after I got the swords. It was a good trip and it was a lot of fun!

movie pushed back

Filed under: Entertainment — thesupertracey @ 7:20 pm

SO, I already posted this as a note on my facebook, but I think its worth putting another post up. This morning, I woke up and got on my laptop and checked my email to read my mom’s and her 2 sister’s emails that they send everyday. Well, in my inbox was a message titled “boo hoo” and this is what I read:

Next Harry Potter movie pushed back to July 2009
Thursday August 14 5:57 PM ET

The release date for the sixth Harry Potter movie, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” was pushed back on Thursday to July 2009 from its original slot in November 2008, movie studio Warner Bros. said.

The eight-month change in the opening date to July 17, 2009, is expected to disappoint millions of Harry Potter fans around the world who have already been waiting more than a year to watch the next big-screen installment in the international literary and film phenomenon.

Trailers for “Half-Blood Prince” began running last week in advance of the expected November movie release worldwide.

Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc, said it had decided to make the change to bolster its release schedule for the lucrative summer moviegoing season — a period that can account for as much as 40 percent of Hollywood‘s annual box office receipts.

Warner Bros. President Alan Horn said the studio was also still feeling repercussions from the three-month Hollywood screenwriters strike that ended in February but has “impacted the readiness of scripts for other films.”

“We know the summer season is an ideal window for a family … release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment,” Horn said.

The studio said the change of date would not alter production plans for the final, two-part Potter movie adventure, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” The release date for part one is tentatively set for November 2010.

Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and last story from British author J.K. Rowling about the boy wizard and his friends at Hogwarts School, was published in July 2007. The series has sold an estimated 400 million copies, and the books have been translated into more than 60 languages.

Having read this, it put a bit of a damper on my mood. Then I thought about my friends who are going to be going to Europe for studying abroad the fall semester. One of them, Traci, said that she’d try to go to the premier of the movie and try and get me an autograph for my birthday present. Totally bummed about that. I tagged some friends to the note on facebook and one of the girls I had tagged didn’t notice that I had tagged her to it. Well, she started a chat with me asking if I’d heard about it and so I asked if she saw the note I tagged her to. Like I said, she hadn’t. We don’t want to wait another 8 months or something! Come on WB! That’s my little movie rant. Or whatever it would be considered.
